Buy A Dream. Save A Life.

EVERY VEHICLE SOLD MAKES AN IMPACT

Serramonte Volkswagen donates a proceed of every sale to Grateful Dogs Rescue to help continue its life-saving work. Grateful Dogs Rescue is the oldest all-breed rescue group in San Francisco.  For more than two decades its mission has been to save the lives of dogs at San Francisco Animal Care and Control that are not considered suitable for adoption and are at risk of euthanasia through no fault of their own.Rather than letting these dogs be euthanized, GDR saves as many of them as possible, provides the veterinary care they need, and places them with loving foster parents until their perfect forever homes are found. Every sale at Serramonte Volkswagen helps to save a life. See the stories below to see how your vehicle purchase made a positive impact on an animal in need.

JANUARY & FEBRUARY DONATION HIGHLIGHT STORY
A NOTE FROM OUR FRIENDS AT GRATEFUL DOGS RESCUE

Serramonte,

Grateful Dogs Rescue, as always, is very appreciative of your partnership with us.

Grateful Dogs Rescue has already rescued over 25 dogs in 2019! This is a big start to the new year. As you can imagine, we have had lots of veterinary expenses, from routine shots to extensive dental care to testing and diagnostics. We were able to rescue this many dogs because we have amazing foster homes to care for the dogs, and we have the support of Serramonte Subaru and Serramonte Volkswagen to help with the medical expenses for these dogs.

One dog benefiting from your donation is Gary. This adorable pittie pup was in the process of being adopted when he started having seizures. Grateful Dogs Rescue is working with our vet to identify the cause and treatment. Happily, his foster family is committed to this cutie and once we have Gary in the right treatment plan, they will finalize the adoption. He is already 3 weeks seizure free!

Sheila is a spaniel-mix that Grateful Dogs Rescue was asked to take in. Sheila had a mouthful of diseased teeth and rescue was her only way out of the shelter. Sheila received the dental care she needed thanks to your partnership with us.  Sheila is now pain-free with a mouthful of shiny, healthy, white teeth. She is meeting her potential new family this weekend!

Grateful Dogs Rescue's gorgeous German Shepherd Dandelion was another dog that benefited from your donation. This young dog came down with an intestinal bug. Poor baby had quite the tummy ache but after several weeks of treatment, she's feeling 100% better.

Last month, Grateful Dogs Rescue was asked to rescue a little Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix. According to the shelter, Casey was super shy and would do best in a foster home. We assumed, after a week or two relaxing after life in the shelter, that Casey would be ready for adoption. This was supposed to be an easy rescue.

As soon as Casey arrived, we realized she had lots of medical issues. She was terribly underweight. Her legs so atrophied that she would topple over when she stood. Immediate vet care was needed. Antibiotics injections and pain meds did their job. Within just a week, Casey was gaining weight and exploring the yard and seeking out affection.

Last Friday, the little one had major surgery. Three mammary tumors were removed. She was spayed. And since she was already anesthetized, Casey had an extensive dental. We are happy to report that she spent hours napping in the sun the following day and she was already eating.

Serramonte Subaru's and Serramonte Volkswagen's donations paid for this unexpected veterinary expense. We know now that Casey will soon be ready for adoption, that she will change someone's life forever. Casey is full of love and we are looking forward to finding the right person for her to share it with.

Thank you for partnering with Grateful Dogs Rescue. Your donations truly help us save lives!  If these dogs could talk, they'd all say thank you!
